Martyred in Guatemala, Blessed James Miller, FSC, is the first religious Brother from the United States to be beatified. Brother James lived his vocation as a missionary and educator working for justice and social change for those on the margins.

A Different Kind of All American Story
Thousands made the pilgrimage to Emmitsburg, Maryland, on the weekend of Sept. 13-14, to the Seton Shrine to be present for the celebrations marking the 50th anniversary of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton, the first U.S.-born saint. I was blessed to be among the crowds and to share the story of another American hero: Blessed James Miller, FSC.
