Originally published in 1988 and updated in 2018, Martyrs of Hope provides insight into the socioeconomic context in Guatemala and El Salvador, where these heroic U.S. missioners served and died. During this hourlong event, the authors will reflect on their personal and professional experiences that led them to write Martyrs of Hope and will address the book’s key themes and continued relevance today.
Pre-reading is not required; however, the book may be purchased at Orbis Books or Amazon.
“It is no exaggeration to say that, as a result of the selfless witness of these missioners, countless religious congregations and individual Christians have determine to follow their example by reexamining their own commitment to the marginalized people of God.” — Martyrs of Hope
