“Connecting the Diocese,” a radio show from the Diocese of La Crosse, Wisconsin, aired a Feb. 15 episode on “hometown martyr” Blessed James Miller. James Alfred Miller was born Sept. 21, 1944, in Stevens Point, Wisconsin. He was martyred Feb. 13, 1982, in Huehuetenango, Guatemala.

During the hourlong program, host Jack Socha interviewed Father Alan Guanella, canon lawyer and pastor of Our Lady Queen of Heaven in Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin. Father Guanella spoke about martyrdom, Brother James’ life story and cause for canonization, and the Brother James Miller Guild.
